What are the steps involved?
We understand that lodging a hearing loss claim may seem daunting, however, we can help you from start to finish and make the process significantly easier and less stressful for you.
The first step is to arrange a hearing test (which we can arrange free of charge for you).
The hearing test will show us whether or not and the degree to which you have suffered industrial hearing loss.
The next step is to lodge a hearing loss claim for compensation and/or hearing aids (which we can prepare for you).
You will then need to attend an Independent Impairment Assessment with an ENT.
The Worksafe insurer, on behalf of the employer, will issue a Notice of Liability either accepting or rejecting liability.
We can review the Notice of Liability together with the ENT report and advise you of the outcome.
The law dictates that you need to lodge against your last noisy employer (current or previous).
There is no time limit in relation to lodging a hearing loss claim, however, you should consider lodging a claim as soon as you are aware that you may have suffered work-related noise induced hearing loss.
We can represent on you on a no-win no-fee basis. This means that if you lodge a claim but do not receive any money, you will not have to pay our costs.
