Court rules against Boeing in hearing-loss disability case

OLYMPIA — Employers cannot reduce a disability award for job-related hearing loss because people of the worker’s age generally suffer from age-related deafness, the Washington Supreme Court ruled today. The case involved two Boeing workers who worked with riveting equipment, stamping presses and other loud machinery at the company’s Renton plant for decades.
